WRONG TACTICS FIRST HALF

NOW AVAILABLE

Well we have to take the bitter pill of defeat. The reason wrong tactics first half to cautious..but we now know it works. The fact that Suarez dropped deep after the break with Sturridge in the central attacking role. This put United in a spin as it would of done to any team.
As I stated in my blog before the  game….

http://styfnorm.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/suarez-sturridge-or-both.html

The danger was that Sturridge would not have been fit enough for this tactic. But in Hindsight the game could have been won out of sight for us. Before we would have taken Sturridge off to shut up shop or put Borini on.

So Rodgers got it the wrong way round. But the worries that the Suarez/ Sturridge partnership would not work are unfounded. It works and it works well with Suarez running at defenses will suit him all day long. So this is the very positive thing we can take from the game. The other is that Borini will be the natural replacement for Sturridge as he gets tied. For the Norwich game this is the only thing Rodgers must have in his mind any think else I will be so pissed off before a ball is kicked.
So that is the attack sorted…. Midfield…. Allen had a nightmare he needs to work on his distribution he should be rested with Shelvey or Hendo getting the nod.

So all in all I am not as pissed off as I am usually with a defeat to the scum. The reason being that I can actually see a half decent team from now to the end of the season .With us being strong in all areas that involves us scoring a lot of goals.

Still a bit frustrated with us over passing especially round our own penalty area as we try to suck teams out. We are just not very good at it …a thing to put into practice when we are 4 goals up.
So here is to the new S&S as a strike force let’s hope it really kicks in gear against Norwich. JF96 YNWA …….

SUAREZ / STURRIDGE OR BOTH ??

Brendan Rodgers has warned that Daniel Sturridge's debut goal is just the beginning and expects Liverpool's new signing to strike up a prolific partnership with Luis Suarez.

He was replaced by Suarez after 55 minutes but Rodgers is excited by the prospect of the pair playing up front together.

Rodgers went on to say

"They can play together, there's no problem with that,"

Rodgers said. "Obviously we want to fit in good players and that's the most important thing, to keep the squad strong and build up a competitive group.

So how will it pan out?

Will Suarez drop deeper into a free roaming role giving Sturridge the central striker role? That would make sense …..But the only problem with that is Suarez will be more restricted to what he can and cannot do.

As it stands now Suarez plays exactly the way he wants to with great effect. But playing with Sturridge in a central attacking role he will have to be a lot more structured. He will have to give cover in a defensive mid-field role or the team will be vulnerable.

If Suarez can take that added structure into his play the partnership will work all day long. But for me that is the danger of the two of them playing together. The perfect outcome is that the two of them can switch from attacking to a slightly deeper role or wider role intermediary. That would give defenses a real head ache. But I am not sure Sturridge is fit enough to do that …one for the future.

As for Sunday’s game which way will Rodgers go?

Will he start with the two Strikers or will Sturridge be brought on as needed. That is the million dollar question, the one that whisky nose will be the most aware of. But for the first time in a long time Liverpool will have that attacking option.

Whatever he decides to go with I am a 100% sure we will have a real go. The Man United midfield has been at best poor this year. Relying on veterans like Giggs and Scholes. I hope he plays Scholes he has red card written all over him. More so if we play with 2 strikers with Suarez playing deeper.

With a good result on Sunday every think will be turned on its head …..With dare I say it again a top four finish not out of the Question…….So Reds prepare your excuses to throw a sickie for work on Monday it could be the party after Christmas …..JF96 ….YNWA

“Head games” “not interested”

Sturridge celebrates his first Liverpool goal

The Mansfield game was a tricky fixture we came out of it with everything intact for the big one at the weekend. Yes… next weekend we go into the belly of the beast. But Liverpool go there in good shape. Here are a few reasons why.

1…..We now have 2 fit first 11 strikers… but not only that…..The scum will have to guess on what role if any they will play as a striking pair .

2…..The fact we played on a heavy pitch was pre training to playing at Old Trafford. Their pitch which is not the best pitch in the league. Considering the money they have it is a disgrace…. it has always been a bad pitch.

3….Suarez again is the center of a controversial incident.  I honestly think Whisky Nose has a personal dislike for Suarez. But the more Suarez is a hated figure by Whisky Nose or whoever the better he plays. So I would not be surprised if the head games on the scums side is full on.

4 …Man U have a midfield problem I would not put it past them to buy big on the transfer front this week to try and give them some sort of momentum.

·         The best thing Liverpool can do in the run up to the game is keep stum. We must leave it to Whisky Nose…… Let him dig a hole for himself with whatever shit he decides to come out with.

·         A win for Liverpool on Sunday will really put the cat among the pigeons. I think we are going to have a real go at Man U at the weekend. We have all the weapons to really hurt them .... I am sure this will be case….With whatever dirty tricks they come up with. Also I call on the FA to take note of any sick chanting by Man U supporters. Playing West Ham at the weekend and chanting about Hillsborough is as low as it gets. That is a good enough example to explain to people  why they are labelled the scum…… as you will ever need ………JF96 ….YNWA

PLAYER POWER

At Loftus Rd yesterday we witness a totally different Liverpool. One I would like to see a lot more of. We did carry on  the path that Rodgers wants the club to go, ie a slick passing game. But it was a lot more direct. We did try the long ball when there was something on. A thing that you can tell Rodgers dislikes.  But the passing for passing sake was a lot less in evidence. Especially round the edge of our own box, giving opposition teams a rest bite with a free option to push up on us.  The Rogers way, wanting the team to play through the opposition.

A very dodgy tactic if you’re not Barcelona , as it has showed with the team performances in 2012, more so at Anfield .

But yesterday it seemed like a case of when the cats away let’s mix it up a bit. QPR set up the same as most teams have done against us. Letting us have the ball, "let them try and pass it through us".

You do not have to be a rocket scientist to work it out. I have watched in horror this year how one dimensional our play has been.

But yesterday the leash was off with Gerrard in control. In dare I say it “a player manager role”. The play was varied something that has been missing in our play. QPR could not cope with this,

I hope this is a learning curve for Rodgers. The team has got to show more variety in their play. If the long ball is on use it. I have watched Suarez from his early days in Holland he loves the occasional long ball. He is a very multi-faceted player so if Liverpool where to mix their play it would suit him down to the ground. Let’s hope this performance kicks us on, But I have said that a few times this year. Then it turns out we have taken one step forward, two steps back. Fingers crossed; let’s carry on in the New Year, as we ended this year. JF96 YNWA

NO COMMITMENT

ARE NIALLS FACE SPEAKS FOR ITS SELF

Well it has taken 2 days of shaking off disappointment to write this blog about Saturday’s abysmal performance. We had done a lot of season ticket swapping so the family could sit together in the main stand as a pre Xmas treat. This was the game we were to continue the push to the top 4 slots. With pre match pub banter of people saying even 2nd slot was on the cards. Well how wrong people can be….. Obviously the only people not to share our optimism were the fucking players.

The first 10 minutes we took control as usual. Villa looked a really poor side ……Suarez had 3 goal scoring chances on each occasion he opted to pass.. As if under instructions to do so. From then on it got worse with us failing in the following points.
  • ·         COMMITMENT
  • ·         SHOOTING
  • ·         PASSING
  • ·         NOT MOVING THE BALL QUICKLY ENOUGH
  • ·         MARKING
  • ·         CROSSING
  • ·         GETTING BODIES IN THE BOX
To name but a few but it is the commitment that is the most worrying. It falls on the manager to motivate it is a true indication of an unhappy dressing room. We had a chance on Saturday to really get the teams above us looking over their shoulders …But as many times in past 2 seasons may be more we took 2 steps back ….We have turned into Coventry of the 60s 70s and 80s a none moving mid table bag of shite….So frustrating and not good enough.

The day had a bright spot as it was on to the annual Bunnyman show at the academy in town. Which the band showed loads of commitment …..Prompting me to tweet ……AT LEAST LIVERPOOL'S MUSICIANS SHOWED COMMITMENT ……It is shame Rodgers did not drag the team kicking and screaming to the gig to put some fight and commitment into their performances . For me the jury is still out on Rodgers and come to mention it the American owners. As of now for me they still have not brought any think to our club.

But back on to the more Committed music side of things. The Hillsborough justice single is out today so let’s show the team what commitment really means….and make it the biggest seller of the year .YNWA JF96 .

ENRIQUE THE NEW RAY KENNEDY

ENRIQUE
KENNEDY

Was having a tweeted conversation with our kid at half time of yesterdays game with Swansea . We were talking about how Enrique has turned into the new Ray Kennedy. He had mentioned this the week before at the Wigan game to a mutual friend . His new role helps us come to this conclusion in a very positive way . It is noticeable  for more reasons . The fact that Kennedy was bought from Arsenal  as an active center forward . But he was played by Shankley as an all round midfield player . Classic by Shankley letting a player play to his own strengths.  So Rodgers is taken on the great mans ideals, Giving an attacking defender an attacking midfielder role .  not a bad blue print to take on board.

Shankley

But I have noticed a few things over the last 2 months that has reminded me of Shankleys teams . I recall Shankley saying more than once"let the ball do the work" "Why touch the ball when you don,t have too" I have watched a few Liverpool players doing this lately letting the ball run other than giving it unnecessary touches . But for me unlike Shankley teams we are taking far to many  passes . One of the main culprits of this in the Swansea game was surprisingly Gerrard, it was not one of his most memorable games . So Rodgers is always saying how he respects Liverpool's history . That has got to be a good thing . It looks like he is taken that respect to an other level  Incorporating it in today's team.  Well he gets the thumbs up from me on that one . YNWA JF96

CYBER MANAGERS ARE HERE

COULD BRING YOU YOUR DREAM JOB

Vugar Huseynzade, a 21 year old student from Sweden, has successfully gained employment as the manager of the Azerbaijani Premier League club FK Baku's 'A' side, with his only experience being Football Manager on PC.

Vugar Huseynzade has never managed a real football club, but he does have a Business Management degree from Boston University, spent some time doing work experience at a US based sports agency, and played plenty of Football Manager.
Huseynzade told the Scandinavian newspaper, Aftonbladet, that he "has always wanted to work in football, and [has] played Football Manager since 2002."
Huseynzade was initially hired earlier this year by FK Baku in an assistant role, where his knowledge and the way he managed his team in Football Manager impressed the club.
It seems that was all he needed to land his dream job - ESPN reports he even beat big names like Jean-Pierre Papin to the position.

Well it was only a matter of time before this sort of thing happened . I think you are going to see a lot more of this going on . It will certainly knock the wages of mangers and coaches down . If cyber  managers become successful , but surly they will have a problem getting the respect  of the players .

DO YOU THINK I SHOULD PUT IN FOR THE QPR JOB????

IN 4 YEARS I HAVE TAKEN ACCRINGTON STANLEY TO CHAMPIONS LEAGUE GLORY ,
