Flexibility the Key

I made a statement to my mates before the Arsenal game last Saturday……”If we won at Arsenal then Liverpool  would win the League” ……Well I am not saying  that we will not but managerial naiveties have doubted my certainty . The fact that Cissokho was thrown in at the deep end…… With the pull out of Johnson due to illness. Leaving…. arguably are best defender Agger on the bench  . So BR went with the 3 center back we have been playing over the last few weeks . It played right into Wenger's hands as the instructions must have been lean on Cissokho   . They did and Liverpool never looked like winning the game. With the late pull out of Johnson maybe we should of put Sturridge on the bench with a start for Coutinho . We looked a lot more inventive after he was introduced ….After all we were playing Arsenal away . With only playing one striker up front  that would of sewn up mid-field frustrating Arsenal  . After all how many times last Season did Suarez fill that role

So I think BR still has a lot to learn about how to set up in different situations ……..He did get it wrong for the Arsenal game . As for the game on Saturday against Fulham we should have a full squad available …..The 3 center back situation needs looking at it can be undone …So I would like to see a bit more flexibility in BR’s selection for Saturdays Fulham game . So we can bounce back right away.

Glastonbury Crew Picks (PT 1)

Well I did not get this together do it live on site. The computer speed was far too slow it would have taken forever. I would have missed every think I am sure you would not have wished that on me.  Any way home now so let see some choices.

Going to start with Robbie Swang ……. Swang is a part of Mary Macs… Meet and Greet Crew…….A crew ran by Mary for 15 years . As a link between the arriving traders and their market managers. But as you can imagine this crew deal with every think Circus’ Stages ‘Theatre’ Cabaret ‘ it is to stop the site turning into a sugar cube with ants swarming all over it . In other words utter chaos . Every one to get where they need to be as quick as poss so we can start the party . Had the pleasure of managing Swangs band SWANG PARTY IN LATE 80S still one of the best bands I have ever seen will try and dig some stuff up and put it up

Robbie Swang

Next in line is Charlie Miller……Charlie was my old crew boss on the Pyramid throughout the 90s …..He is now running music production at the Green Rooms. Charlie also does a lot of stuff for Children’s World a Glastonbury based children's  charity . Who do shows all over the country in inner city schools. He informed one year that they had do a series of shows in my old school in Walton Liverpool . He also plays gigs around the site with his band the Soul Agents.

My lovely step daughter Roxy has never missed a festival from birth. She is now is fluent in 4 language’s which must come handy with the many traders that come to the festival from all over the world. She is one of the main cogs in J’F & K market office. Graduate from Liverpool Uni just returned from translating roles at the European Parliament in Brussels.

END OF THE FOOTIE BLOGS 2012/13season

I end this year of footie blogs on a sad note. As a diehard Liverpool supporter I understand the views of the modern day pansy supporters. But I fail to summit to them. You get a player who wants to play…. But some types clamber for football easy glory. Like the player who spends time on his hair or gang rapes women after a night club binge.
But surely that is not right. As we line up on a Sunday morning with hang overs from the night before. After losing the previous 8 games .But maybe I am mislead as …  Roy Keane shouts out you prawn sandwich twat. That fucker was right.
The truth is for the first time in my life my club are losing a player because of shit. It is his job to be a football player. A football player he was. What is the game turning into? We pay thousands of pounds in entry fees not to mention the travel. To watch football players play football ….Hard committed players giving 100%. Honest from all parts of the world the best players. When they quote it is my job … To right it is your  job.  For all of us …WHAT YOU HAVE NEVER SEEN ROLLER BALL …..It is better on the pitch than on the street…….
We are Human beings ….              What happens on football on the pitch stays on the pitch ….If you think different you are a knob...Do not say think of the kids or you are a bigger knob ...We pay to watch the players who are the best at their job. The difference we hope they don’t get injured but they always do …. Only a few players never get injured …….(tends to spook the pretend  players ) ……Very rare that players give 100% in every game they play and never get injured …….Think on media don’t mess with the game to much …Otherwise your dinner will be missing from the table .

We Must Retake the Throne

Another frustrating season bites the dust. With only a slight improvement on the previous season. With a closed season of anticipation already set in we tick the days off on the calendar. But can we add tempt or keep hold of are main assets to be a part of the squad next season??

With no European football at Liverpool Football Club next year it is going to be interesting. All are emphasis has got to be on clean sweep of domestic success. If it is there to win we must win it. Anyone who we want to keep or buy in we must convince them of a short sharp 2 year plan. Then the club can start moving forward at pace we are accustom with.

The owners (FSG) can really start the ball rolling with this movement by nailing the refurbishment plans for Anfield with some solid start dates. It will help to persuade quality players to take a chance to be part of something big.  The Suarez situation if we can keep him for the start of the next season and he gets some games under his belt, I think it will be OK.But he will need some help as I said in a earlier blog http://styfnorm.blogspot.co.uk/2013/04/suarez-value-for-money.html  .

The kid needs to play football a lot of football. But with the retirement of the Legend that is Jamie Carragher we need a centre back cover. I think we could get Lugano in for a year on the cheap. He is on loan at Malaga from PSG at the moment becomes a free agent in June. Surly the captain of Uruguay could add some stability to Suarez. Plus Lugano could play a roll like McAllister did some years back we won 5 cups that year.

Next season I would be happy if we added 4 quality players to the squad. A striker holding midfielder…. play maker midfielder.. and a centre back. With a huge push on the youth policy to bring 3 or 4 through that is in the perfect world. But now we can only dream with wish teams. But we all know it is going to be a huge season for the future of the club.

Ø Hillsborough inquiry
Ø Anfield Refurbishment
Ø Premiership Top 4 at least
Ø At least 1 domestic trophy
Ø Suarez his future
Ø 4 Quality players in 4 home grown players through the ranks

The Throne of English Football back.
For what it is worth here is my 1st stab at my dream team for the 2013/14 seasonNorm YNWA –JFT96

Huge Derby day

TO MAKE YOUR OWN FORMATIONS AND TACTICS ...FREE & SHARE AT http://www.yourtactics.com/

Today is a day for Glen Johnson to be on top of his game. His forward runs will have to be timed to perfection. Everton’s main threat comes on the left through Pienaar and Baines. If Johnston gets caught in no man’s land we will be punished. He has to be on top of his game.
If so Downing can push on more to link better with Sturridge. Coutinho has turned into a more striking player with his tracking back impressive also. So Liverpool will be playing today with 2 strikers. Gerrard will play in a deeper role with Lucas …with Everton’s midfield being as strong as it is. This derby will be won on discipline. A win today I can see Liverpool finishing above Everton.
Whatever happens it will be feisty as it always is …..

Life without Suarez

After all the over the top shit about Suarez all week it is now back to the football for the Reds. Suarez is going to be a big hole to fill’ but upwards an onwards with Newcastle on Saturday. It is giving Sturridge the chance to shine.

He made a big difference against Chelsea when he came on. He is a clever player and getting stronger. He also has not had the chance to have a full game playing with an equally clever Coutinho. So after all the negativity this week this something all red supporters can look forward to. So how will Brendan Rodgers set up for the Newcastle game???.

This formation and tactics looks favourite. With the question how fit is Borini. He could link up well with Sturridge. If you’re thinking different you can make and post your own up anywhere using http://www.yourtactics.com/ free & share

Suarez value for money

As I have documented in many previous blogs I have watched Suarez for over 5 years.  He lives for his wife little girl and Football. He never gets injured trains 7 days a week and gives 100% every game he plays. Now compare that too many football players who are on 100 grand a week strolling round the pitch as the money rolls in.

From the pockets of people who are struggling to make ends meet. You get your money’s worth with Suarez week in week out. He might have gone over the top with his passion in the Chelsea game. But at the end of the day his buzz comes on pitch. Not from some tacky night spot fast cars picking up bimbos drinking shagging around …getting nicked. His passion is football which makes him a footballer who really does earn footballs high wage packet.

Unlike the likes of Emmanuel Adebayor, to name but one who walks round in a lazy daze getting paid over a 100 grand for his trouble. But he is just one there are many players in the Prem who are biting the hands that feed them. They are ripping the supporters off which is one thing that is defiantly not  true of Suarez .
As for the incident in the Chelsea game . I have been watching Suarez in the last couple of games. I could see this happening he has got a lot of pent up passion. For the simple reason he not playing enough competitive football.

He is at his best when he is playing 3 games week with a 3 time zone flight in the middle . The first 2 thirds of the season he was doing that on a regular basis. Happy…. playing well basically carrying Liverpool while still banging them in for Uruguay.

But with Liverpool having steadily falling out of competitions his game schedule has ground to a halt. A huge frustration to player like Suarez. It all came out in the biting incident not good ….But just as a smack head will rob your house to feed his/hers habit, The lack of football has sadly   had the same bad effect on Suarez. I have seen it happen to him before. Liverpool as a club must help him with this problem’ keep him round the anger he is a special footballer. Build a team round him so he is playing competitive games 3 times a week 8 months a year. That is all the lad wants.

Before the Chelsea game I thought Suarez would be sold. But now I am not so sure. We Liverpool Football Club are part of his family. We pull together for our own as the whole football world knows so well . For his effort and commitment he has given to the club he deserves no less .

NOT ENOUGH GAMES SYNDROME

To make your own formation and tactics go to

Well here Liverpool go again on a mini winning streak. West Ham next with a slim chance left of a top 4 finish. With injury’s to Bale and Gallas on Thursday Tottenham’s job to maintain form looks harder. Rafa at Chelsea and the amount of games they are playing any think is possible. Not to mention we play Chelsea and Everton. So the Everton v Tottenham game at the weekend a draw would be good.  West Brom host Arsenal who are no mugs at the Hawthorn’s as Liverpool found out the first match of the season.

But all this aside we have to win the West Ham game on Sunday. As I take my seat on Sunday I will not have the right to win attitude about me. I have got to get out of that habit things have changed at the moment. But I am sure they will return but for now there is always the air of doubt.
One of the main problems I think facing Liverpool is the fact we are playing very few games. More so for the likes of Suarez. Who would be happy playing 5 games a week, then sill get bored on the other two days . I don’t think I have not known Liverpool to have so few games. So hopefully new tactics and longer to work on them is going to prove fruit full. Well we will see on Sunday at least there is no Andy Carroll to worry about.

For the team itself you would be foolish to change it from the Villa game. I thought it was a solid performance  our first touch was a bit off , But that is a symptom of having  very few games.  We have NOT ENOUGH GAMES SYNDROME …….So it makes sense to play a team that is more accustom to playing competitive games. We must keep up are end of the bargain by getting a solid win on Sunday then hope someone slips up its happened before .

Your Tactics Explained

As you may know or not know I have been pushing the formation creator web site  http://www.yourtactics.com/ . The reason apart from being a neat little free site covering 8 major worldwide sports.

The only site of its kind to do that.

But yes it is my sons Liverpool University project.

So perfect I can help him with that.  We live breathe football so we are just adding 7 more sports to our conversation list. As I took him to Anfield for the 1st time when he was 6 we have took on more sports to banter about in the pre and after match pint .But the Sharing of formations round the world has been good.

Putting formations on the Boston Red Socks Facebook page gets reactions. After all Liverpool are linked to the club. Is it more than a game of rounder’s?  Do formations post them and find out.
The most popular sports for formation uploads so far have been of course Football.  In a close second has been the Finnish with their Ice Hockey. They are mad for it as they say. Then.... Rugby League it is the most interesting formation lay out.

So what I do is go to Wikipedia swot up on the rules. Then post a formation on whatever sport to Twitter Facebook etc.  .
He is working on new feature to the formations which will be good. So if you have been getting bombarded with me going on about your tactics this is a few reasons why. Cracking little site and I am proud because it’s my boys.

Two Days in Amsterdam at Stake

Four days after what was arguably Liverpool's best display of a stop start season . We face Zenit having to make up a two goal deficit . Ever since it was announced that the final would be in Ajax's stadium in Amsterdam .It had Liverpool supporters rubbing their hands in anticipation at a couple of days in the Dam for many reasons .

For me the Europa League/UEFA has always been important it is steeped in Liverpool's history . When you think about it a no brainier . There are more teams/ games a lot of traveling . Which involves all  the up and coming teams in Europe . Which like it or not Liverpool fall in to this group . So a trip to Amsterdam the team jumping on the next rung of the ladder towards their former glory the Zenit game is big .
But as for team selection we again have the familiar problem of strikers . With Sturridge cup tied Borini on the treatment table  Suarez leads the line again . He will need attacking midfield support . I am torn between Shelvey and Suzo .
Shelvey has the strength but loses his head . Suzo has the skill and brain but is a bit light weight . If Shelvey uses his brain he would do the job with more of an eye for goal . Suzo on the other hand could feed Suarez all day long if he showed more steel . I though Zenit where nothing special in Russia we could of nailed them .We can not afford to do that again tonight YNWA JF96

Liverpool v Swansea

My thoughts about Liverpool team selections  if we want to salvage something from this abysmal season. We need to embed a team in from now to the end of the season . Lets try the old fashioned way like Shanks would of done . A bad team performance he would of stuck the same team out after a bollocking . You can bet the next performance would of been top notch . Rodgers is a tinkerer fucking around constantly with the team more so after a bad game which there has been many . So Brendan take a leaf out of Shanks book and let them have a second strike . Brave but it has got to be done . If he had I am convinced we would be not in this position .
That is why I have gone with just 3 changes from the Zenit game Agger for Sktel Lucas for Allen  Sturridge for Sterling  . Remember great teams are made by playing together on a regular basis for good or bad . Lets not confuse the issue Mr Rodgers.

OUR GOAL AS IT STANDS!!!

JUST AS ROBERT RODGERS LED HIS MEN .....BRENDAN YOU NEED TO DO THE SAME.

After the total shambles that was the Oldham game this is what is left the Europa League and more important the top 4 finish . Rodgers keeps saying "it will be a long rebuilding process" but the process will not come any  quicker with him making stupid team selections . When I saw the selection before the game yesterday I was gob smacked . If we would of played a team similar to what we have played through out the season it would of been fine . With Suarez and Sterling as the attacking option closing the game down filling midfield they would have gone nowhere . But as like a kid with new toys he played 4 strikers . Leaving a watery midfield with Oldham taking full advantage.  Putting unnecessary pressure on an untried defense.  It was a junior coach training mistake . Not a mistake of a coach who is pushing a team to Champion League heights . Now this should  of been a classic case of Rodgers holding his hands up and saying . "I got the selection wrong" . But no he states that the players should take responsibility .

All this fills me with no faith  in Rodgers ability to put the team back were we belong . Now we are really up against it with just one chance of silverware . The pressure is on we need Champions League football for reasons that are to many to mention . We really need to go on a dynamic run of results now there are no more chances left . Every member of the club giving 100% from now to the end of the season .
But if any club can do this Liverpool can........ if not I can see Rodgers days are numbered

WRONG TACTICS FIRST HALF

NOW AVAILABLE

Well we have to take the bitter pill of defeat. The reason wrong tactics first half to cautious..but we now know it works. The fact that Suarez dropped deep after the break with Sturridge in the central attacking role. This put United in a spin as it would of done to any team.
As I stated in my blog before the  game….

http://styfnorm.blogspot.co.uk/2013/01/suarez-sturridge-or-both.html

The danger was that Sturridge would not have been fit enough for this tactic. But in Hindsight the game could have been won out of sight for us. Before we would have taken Sturridge off to shut up shop or put Borini on.

So Rodgers got it the wrong way round. But the worries that the Suarez/ Sturridge partnership would not work are unfounded. It works and it works well with Suarez running at defenses will suit him all day long. So this is the very positive thing we can take from the game. The other is that Borini will be the natural replacement for Sturridge as he gets tied. For the Norwich game this is the only thing Rodgers must have in his mind any think else I will be so pissed off before a ball is kicked.
So that is the attack sorted…. Midfield…. Allen had a nightmare he needs to work on his distribution he should be rested with Shelvey or Hendo getting the nod.

So all in all I am not as pissed off as I am usually with a defeat to the scum. The reason being that I can actually see a half decent team from now to the end of the season .With us being strong in all areas that involves us scoring a lot of goals.

Still a bit frustrated with us over passing especially round our own penalty area as we try to suck teams out. We are just not very good at it …a thing to put into practice when we are 4 goals up.
So here is to the new S&S as a strike force let’s hope it really kicks in gear against Norwich. JF96 YNWA …….

SUAREZ / STURRIDGE OR BOTH ??

Brendan Rodgers has warned that Daniel Sturridge's debut goal is just the beginning and expects Liverpool's new signing to strike up a prolific partnership with Luis Suarez.

He was replaced by Suarez after 55 minutes but Rodgers is excited by the prospect of the pair playing up front together.

Rodgers went on to say

"They can play together, there's no problem with that,"

Rodgers said. "Obviously we want to fit in good players and that's the most important thing, to keep the squad strong and build up a competitive group.

So how will it pan out?

Will Suarez drop deeper into a free roaming role giving Sturridge the central striker role? That would make sense …..But the only problem with that is Suarez will be more restricted to what he can and cannot do.

As it stands now Suarez plays exactly the way he wants to with great effect. But playing with Sturridge in a central attacking role he will have to be a lot more structured. He will have to give cover in a defensive mid-field role or the team will be vulnerable.

If Suarez can take that added structure into his play the partnership will work all day long. But for me that is the danger of the two of them playing together. The perfect outcome is that the two of them can switch from attacking to a slightly deeper role or wider role intermediary. That would give defenses a real head ache. But I am not sure Sturridge is fit enough to do that …one for the future.

As for Sunday’s game which way will Rodgers go?

Will he start with the two Strikers or will Sturridge be brought on as needed. That is the million dollar question, the one that whisky nose will be the most aware of. But for the first time in a long time Liverpool will have that attacking option.

Whatever he decides to go with I am a 100% sure we will have a real go. The Man United midfield has been at best poor this year. Relying on veterans like Giggs and Scholes. I hope he plays Scholes he has red card written all over him. More so if we play with 2 strikers with Suarez playing deeper.

With a good result on Sunday every think will be turned on its head …..With dare I say it again a top four finish not out of the Question…….So Reds prepare your excuses to throw a sickie for work on Monday it could be the party after Christmas …..JF96 ….YNWA

“Head games” “not interested”

Sturridge celebrates his first Liverpool goal

The Mansfield game was a tricky fixture we came out of it with everything intact for the big one at the weekend. Yes… next weekend we go into the belly of the beast. But Liverpool go there in good shape. Here are a few reasons why.

1…..We now have 2 fit first 11 strikers… but not only that…..The scum will have to guess on what role if any they will play as a striking pair .

2…..The fact we played on a heavy pitch was pre training to playing at Old Trafford. Their pitch which is not the best pitch in the league. Considering the money they have it is a disgrace…. it has always been a bad pitch.

3….Suarez again is the center of a controversial incident.  I honestly think Whisky Nose has a personal dislike for Suarez. But the more Suarez is a hated figure by Whisky Nose or whoever the better he plays. So I would not be surprised if the head games on the scums side is full on.

4 …Man U have a midfield problem I would not put it past them to buy big on the transfer front this week to try and give them some sort of momentum.

·         The best thing Liverpool can do in the run up to the game is keep stum. We must leave it to Whisky Nose…… Let him dig a hole for himself with whatever shit he decides to come out with.

·         A win for Liverpool on Sunday will really put the cat among the pigeons. I think we are going to have a real go at Man U at the weekend. We have all the weapons to really hurt them .... I am sure this will be case….With whatever dirty tricks they come up with. Also I call on the FA to take note of any sick chanting by Man U supporters. Playing West Ham at the weekend and chanting about Hillsborough is as low as it gets. That is a good enough example to explain to people  why they are labelled the scum…… as you will ever need ………JF96 ….YNWA
